WOSSA Track and Field

WOSSA is being held at TD Waterhouse Stadium on Thursday, May 20 and Friday, May 21. Thursday bus will be leaving school at 7:45 and approximate return time of 6:00. Friday's bus will be leaving the school at 7:15 and approximate return time of 5:00. Again the return times are just an estimate. Good luck to all athletes. The pictures from Huron Perth will be up soon.

Huron Perth Track and Field

Wow, congratulations to all athletes. It was very nice to to see so many positive results. I believe the final number is 39 athletes competing at WOSSA on Thursday and Friday, by far the most for the CHSS team. As an overall team, CHSS finished 3rd, behind a very strong FE Madill team and St.Annes. Third also means we finshed ahead of 8 other schools.
Special congratulations to Kelsey King and Dylan Lambert for winning their divisions. Both athletes won the 200m, 400m and 3oomH events in their age group.
Thank you to Junior Boys team for bringing home another banner.
Practices continue this week after school.

Huron Perth

Sorry for putting this information up so late, better late then never. Huron Perth is held at GDCI this year. Tuesday's bus will be leaving after period 1, 10:15am, and returning back to Clinton around 5:30. Wednesday's bus leaves at 8am and returns around 3pm. Both return times are approximate; the weather is not looking promising so we may have a few delays. Please bring lots of clothing and rain gear, you will can never be too prepared.
WOSSA track and field is being held on May 20 and 21st at TD Waterhouse stadium, in order to advance to this meet, you must finish in the top 6 at Huron Perth. Good luck:)

Sarnia Meet Information

All athletes should check the PE office door for the entries into the Sarnia meet. Due to entry restrictions, we had to make a few changes to the entries. The bus will be leaving the school at 7am sharp. The Brooks shoe company will have a tent sent up to purchase track spikes. The cost will range from $50-$100. If you wish to purchase a pair, the Brooks tent is very convenient. Again, please sign up for the Huron Perth meet. H-P is the most important of all the meets. Placing in the top 6 of your events advances you to WOSSA.

Pictures At Last

Thank you to Mrs. Godkin for taking so many great pictures. I personally love the one with Dylan and Matt at the St.Anne's meet. What makes it even better, is that Dylan wins. Again congrats to all athletes. You make coaching so much fun. I cannotthink of a better group of people to hang out with for a few days enjoying the weather and a little competition.
Please check the PE office for the entries into the Sarnia meet. There are 47 athletes attending, so it will be a very full bus. Also the sign-up sheet for Huron Perth is on the door as well, please sign up by Tuesday, May 4.

A great start to the season

Wow, what a start. St.Anne`was a great meet to start with, and results have just kept getting better. Again, I will get these pictures up ASAP.
Strathroy was a great success with many athletes making personal bests. Claire McFadzean and Andrea Hamilton both made the top 8, with Claire finishing in 5th place with throw of 21.43m. Corey Pollard finished 5th the senior girls discus event with a PB of 28.93m. Kelsey King finished in 3rd place in the midget girls 400m event with a time of 1:04. The senior Boys relay team consisting of Brodie Cairns, Luke Harrison, Dylan Lambert and Colin Bokhout finished in 3rd.
Mrs.Godkin will have some great pictures, I will get them uploaded with the St.Anne`s pictures shortly.
The Sarnia meet is Wed, May 5, the bus will be leaving the school at 7am, please be at the school for 6:45 to help with loading the bus.

Strathroy Meet Information

The Strathroy Track and Field meet is Thursday April 29th. The bus will be leaving the school at 7:15am, all athletes should plan to be at the school for 7am. All athletes please check the PE office door for the schedule and to verify the events you have been registered in. If you name is not on the registration sheet, you will not be attending the meet.
To avoid this please be sure to sign up before the deadlines for any meet. The deadline to sign up for the Sarnia meet is Thursday, please have you name and the the events you wish to enter on the sign up sheet.
St.Anne's and UWO meet results and pictures will be up shortly.

Permission Forms

A quick reminder to all athletes to get your permission forms and $ to Ms. Carter ASAP. You will be allowed to participate in any meet once you have handed these forms in. St.Anne's and UWO meet sign up forms are on the PE office door, be sure to sign up for your events by Friday April 16.

Some Meet information

All athletes please be sure to sign up for the events you wish to participate in for the St.Anne's and UWO meets ASAP. Deadlines for entries are fast approaching.
Junior Soccer players you have a game the same day as St.Anne's, please do not sign up.
The UWO meet is held at TD Waterhouse stadium in London, CHSS will not be providing bussing for this meet, you must provide your own transportation to and from the meet. Ms.Williams or Ms. Carter will send home a schedule of events upon signing up for the meet. It will be expected that you show up an hour before your event to get in a good warm up. There may be a fee for parking ($5).

2 Practices per week

Wow, what a great turn out so far. All athletes are reminded to make a minimum of 2 practices per week. Soccer will be starting soon, so take a close look at your schedules. Permission forms (ongoing activity form and the Redmen letter) need to be returned, as well as the pay to play fee. Our first meet is April 22nd, only those with all forms and money handed in will be competing.
Let's have a great season. It would be great to have 60 plus athletes competing at Huron Perth this year.
